Florida SouthWestern State College to host Annual Holocaust Memorial Events March 23–26
PROVIDED
Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) will host its annual Holocaust memorial events March 23-26 on the Lee Campus, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Dr. Talbot Spivak Holocaust Memorial. Organized by the Dr. Talbot Spivak Holocaust Memorial Committee, the four-day program will feature guest speakers, faculty lectures, student research presentations and special exhibits honoring Holocaust remembrance and education.
The featured speaker will be Steen Metz, a 90-year-old Danish Holocaust survivor, who will share his story of survival in the Theresienstadt (Terezin) concentration camp during a virtual presentation. Additional guest speakers include Dr. Paul Baxa of Ave Maria University and Cody Rademacher of the Holocaust Museum & Cohen Education Center in Naples, along with a panel of second-generation Holocaust survivors.
The program will also include a pop-up museum exhibit and a World War II-era boxcar on loan from the Holocaust Museum & Cohen Education Center.
Most events will take place in Room U-102 on the FSW Lee Campus, with some sessions available on Zoom or YouTube Live.
The events are free and open to the public. For a full schedule, visit fsw.edu/holocaust.
