“While it has not made T+L’s World’s Best Awards since 2021, The Gasparilla Inn made a comeback this year,” the article published on July 8 states. “Family-owned by a select few since 1964, the property has retained a distinct Old Florida charm that dates back to the inn’s opening in 1913.

The Inn, which joined Historic Hotels of America in 2007 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, takes pride in both its historical past and its attention to detail.

Presidents and their families have vacationed at The Gasparilla Inn. The Bush family, including the former president and governor, have stayed at the facility known world wide.

“For over a century, The Gasparilla Inn has been a beloved Boca Grande Island retreat, blending Old Florida charm with timeless hospitality,” its website states.

“Today, its 163 rooms and 33 suites retain their Old Florida charm, while luxurious amenities like a Pete Dye Golf Course, 250-slip marina, and The Beach Club make it a premier destination. The resort employs over 325 seasonal staff and continues traditions like afternoon tea during Social Season”

The Gasparilla Inn offers numerous on-site dining opportunities as well as numerous activities including golf, tennis and its renowned Beach Club.

Travel + Leisure’s annual “World’s Best Awards” are based on reader surveys, the magazine’s website states. It has been awarding the recognitions for 30 years.
