Southwest Florida Fine Craft Expo announces 2025 Workshops at Cape Coral Art Center

The 2025 Southwest Florida Fine Craft Expo is an exciting opportunity for art lovers and hobbyists to immerse themselves in hands-on workshops across a wide range of media. Taking place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, this annual event invites participants to explore new materials and techniques in a fun, supportive environment. Each workshop offers the chance to create a unique project and take home a piece of your own craftsmanship.
Instructors are all members of the Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild (SWFFCG), a group of highly skilled local artists specializing in various crafts. Workshop offerings for 2025 include:
• Fused Glass
• Paper Quilling
• Clay Raku
• Stained Glass
• “Cold Connection” Metal Constructed Jewelry
• Wire Wrapping Jewelry
• Paper Bead Jewelry
• Dry Needle Felting
• Gothic Calligraphy
• Polymer Clay
Workshops are available in either the morning or afternoon and last for three hours. The cost for each workshop is $35 for instruction, plus a $20 supply kit fee. Pre-registration is required but the supply kit fee is due the day of the workshops. You can also pay your supply kit fee ahead of time on the Guild’s website. This is a fantastic opportunity to try your hand at a new craft while learning from talented, experienced artists.
The Southwest Florida Fine Craft Expo will be held at the Cape Coral Art Center, located at 4533 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, FL. This local community landmark has been involved with the arts since 1977 and has the oldest standing building in Cape Coral since the demolition of the Cape Coral Yacht Club. It’s iconic bird-like “Rubicond” statue is due to ‘fly back’ back from repairs this spring and regain its perch from where it stood for more than 30 years until Hurricane Ian caused repeated damage.
Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for the 2025 Kids Summer Art Camps at the Cape Coral Art Center, supporting the next generation of young artists. There will also be a raffle available to win artwork from the local members. All proceeds from the raffle will also go towards scholarships, providing local children with free camp registration for Creativity Camp at the Cape Coral Art Center. There, a STEAM-based curriculum is offered to children ages 7-12, with fun weekly themes. Children create hands-on art, including paintings, mixed media projects, and air-dry clay.
Expo project samples and more details can be found at the Cape Coral Art Center.
