There are a slew of attractions both near and far that provide a bit of history and fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Revs Institute Automobile Museum

This Naples museum gives visitors an opportunity to see the shift over the course of the 20th century in automobiles in an 80,000 square foot, three story high museum collection. There are more than 100 automobiles divided into different themes – automobility, Vitesse, Revs, and Porshe.

Hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturdays from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. with admission every half hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Koreshan State Park

This state park, which offers a deep history of the Koreshans, is located along the banks of the Estero River. The state park has 11 restored and nationally registered historic buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In addition to the historic settlement, the park also offers boating, camping, fishing, geo-seeking, hiking, paddling, picnicking, wildlife viewing, a playground and restroom facilities.

Smallwood Store

This store, established in 1906 by Ted Smallwood, is on the western edge of the Everglades and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and remained open until 1982. His granddaughter reopened the store as a museum, where it shares the story of Florida pioneer history. The store offers a view into the story of the pioneers.

Skunk Ape Research Headquarters

The Skunk Ape, often compared to the Sasquatch of the South. This destination offers tours, animal exhibits and camping.

Solomon’s Castle

The castle has more than 80 interpretive stained-glass windows, as well as metal sculptures. There is also the Boat-in-the-Moat Restaurant, and Lily Life House – a lighthouse.  Solomon’s Castle is the creation of sculptor Howard Solomon.

Ruskin Family Drive-In

This longtime drive-in movie theatre has been showing films since 1952 when it first played “singing in the Rain.” The property includes a 2,000 square foot screen, restrooms, snack bar and a parking lot. The drive-in is open year-round with the exception of Monday and Tuesday.
