Matlacha Hookers to host 9th Annual Wine Event in February at the SJCCA
This year the Matlacha Hookers will be hosting its 9th annual Wine Event Sunday, Feb. 28, from 1-4 p.m. at St James City Civic Center. All of the proceeds are to be donated to The Beacon of Hope’s Senior Program.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the event. They can be purchased in advance at the following local businesses on the island: Beacon of HOPE thrift store (Pine Island), Centennial Bank Drive-thru (St James City), C.W. Fudge (Matlacha), or you can find them on Eventbrite Key Word: Matlacha Hookers.
The fun afternoon will feature samplings of rum, beer and wine, and C.W. Fudge’s wonderful confections.
There will also be live music and Polynesian Dance, Rum Punch and welcoming “Leis,” appetizers, and island food. The local band “Pine Island Sound” will be performing.
Attendees will adhere to current CDC standards. The event can be held both indoors (food and wines served in the accustomed manner) and outside, to maintain social distancing.
The Hookers can also turn the event into a drive-up event; and if the event has to be cancelled, patrons can either make a donation with the ticket money or request a refund.
The Hookers will keep participants informed of any changes.
The Matlacha Hookers, is a 501(c) 3 women’s charitable non-profit organization.
The organization has members from Matlacha and the Greater Pine Island area, as well as Cape Coral, North Ft. Myers and Fort Myers.
