Cape Coral Police have released the names of those involved in the death investigation that began in the northeast Cape Sunday after officers responding to a request for a wellness check found one person dead and another injured.

Anna Rivera, 45, was found deceased inside of the residence. Her husband, Porfirio Rivera, 50, was found in the home with non life-threatening injuries and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Mr. Rivera remains in Lee Memorial Hospital at this time where he will be interviewed by Detectives upon completion of his treatment, according to a release issued by the Cape Coral Police Department Monday.

Manner of death, specifics about Mr. Rivera’s injuries and other details are not being made public at this time, the release states, adding more information will be released when available.

Cape Coral Police are conducting a death investigation at 309 N.E. 18th Avenue.

Officers responded to the address at 4 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a concerned person to check on the welfare of the man and woman at the home.

When officers arrived, they discovered an adult female deceased and an adult male injured.

The male has been transported to the hospital where detectives will interview him after he is treated by medical professionals. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, officials with the Cape Coral Police Department said.

Cape Coral Police are confirming that the neighborhood is safe and no suspects are “at large” or being sought.

The names of the deceased female and injured male are not being released at this time.

No other information is was available late Sunday evening. Additional information is expected to be available today, officials said.
