‘Stars of Tomorrow’ showcases ‘more and more’ talent each year
The C.C. Council for Arts and Humanities has an outstanding Celebration of the Cultural Arts, by presenting their 21 year of “Stars of Tomorrow” Scholarship Program.
This program offered area youth the opportunity to present their particular talent in the Performing Arts at Cape Coral’s Cultural Center on Cultural Park Blvd.
Five competent judges chose 68 talents to be in the Competition. These were students in elementary, middle, and high school grades – First year college students are were eligible and included in the competitions.
They continue to be overwhelmed by the quality of the talents in Southwest Florida in all age groups.
The contestants were judged separately in each age group and each category of the Performing Arts including Vocal, Drama, Dance, and Instrumental.
First and Second Place Awards were given in each grade level and each category.
The talent in this community is outstanding, organizers said. Many of these students have appeared in theater productions all over Southwest Florida and beyond.
The winners performed at the Command Performance on Dec. 2 at the theater and were presented their awards.
The President of the Cape Coral Arts and Humanities Inc., Richard Knapik thanks all those who helped put on the production.
Thanks to all who attended by putting some joy in your life, by starting the Christmas holiday season to celebrate our youth. They certainly prove that “Culture is the Fabric of Life”
Director of this show, June Sommerfield, said she is honored to be connected with this positive influence in our community.
“The talent seems to excel more and more each year,” she said in a prepared statement. “We thank all those at the theater and those who helped with the show. We also thank all who came to encourage and honor these students who have chosen a positive road to following their lives by being in this production.”
