CCFD conducting CAPE Special Needs Toy Drive
The Cape Coral Fire Department will be collecting toys and gifts for children in the community with “special needs.” The toy drive will be the next two weeks, and residents can drop off donations at any of the city’s fire stations.
“For more than 20 years, the city of Cape Coral Fire Department has provided gifts during the holiday season to Cape Coral children with special needs,” said Fire Chief Bill Van Helden. “Through the participation of our citizens, volunteers and business partners, we are able to make the holiday a little bit brighter for these kids.”
The department collects toys for children with Down’s syndrome, cancer, autism, cystic fibrosis and other chronic illnesses. Donation boxes are at all of the fire stations to provide a safe and convenient location to deliver gifts.
If you would like to contribute to the CAPE Special Needs Toy Drive, bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift to any of our fire stations by Dec. 7.
