Inaugural Cape Black Friday Beer Crawl set
For many, a great Black Friday includes a great deal on a spectacular TV and other holiday gifts.
This year, local restauranters and pub owners in the South Cape are offering an alternative to waiting in store lines – a Black Friday Beer Crawl that will give a winner over $1,500 in gifts, including a 43-inch Samsung Plama TV.
“You can win all those great prizes for holiday gifts by strolling to seven places, instead of standing in shopping lines,” said Cape Coral Community Redevelopment Agency’s Helen S. Ramey. She noted that this event is soley the work of local restauranteurs and bar owners, who are presenting the event.
The crawl will be held at seven different Cape spots from 6 to 10 p.m., this Friday, Nov. 23.
You start with a “passport” you get at any of the locations, and then you visit each spot for a “stamp” in any order. At each spot you try their specialty beer for that night for $2.
Besides the big TV, a grand prize winner will get gift certificates to each of the participating venues, passes to the Redneck Yacht Club, a Budweiser guitar and more valued at $1,500.
The seven hot spots are:
– The Twisted Conch
837 S.E. 47th Terrace
– Back Streets Sports Bar

– Rack’em Billards

Lynn Pippenger is the operating partner of Dixie Roadhouse.
“I think it was a great idea,” she said. “I’m all for anything that puts feet on the street of Cape Coral, the South Cape especially.”
This was completely set up by the owners of the businesses, she said.
“I think this is great because this an example of them working together to support each other, and of taking an inititve to plan the event and work together to promote businesses in the area,” she said.
Dixie Roadhouse will be serving Fire Rock Pale Ale as its special beer.
“All of these are beers we don’t normally carry, something new just for this night,” she said.
“It will also help our regular customers see what other places are out there, what’s available in the Cape.
“Avoid the lines on Black Friday,” Peppinger said. “Instead of waiting in line – have fun.”
