You can hear holiday music sung by a choir, watch the magical lighting of a Christmas tree and enjoy a visit with Santa at the annual Helping Hands for the Holidays Event Monday night.

The Helping Hands For the Holiday and Holiday Tree Lighting evening begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m., with the tree lighting itself at 6:30 p.m.

The event takes place at the Team Aubuchan Building at 4707 S.E. 9th Place near 47th Terrace in Club Square.

“This is our 14th annual Helping Hands For the Holiday event,” said Gary Aubuchan, president of the Aubuchan Team of Companies. “It began as an event to give back to our community, and to help those within our community that are going through a difficult time. We felt as one of the leading businesses in Cape Coral that we had a personal responsibility to use our network to raise money to help these important charities.”

The event is free and open to the public, with any proceeds donated that night to go to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, Ronald McDonald House Charities of SWFL and Lee BIA Builders Care.

“Some of the highlights of the event include holiday music sung by a children’s choir, the lighting of the Christmas tree and a visit from Santa Claus,” Aubuchan said. “There will be lots of holidays treats and beverages available.

“It’s a wonderful evening to kick off the heart of the holiday season and gives people the opportunity to give back to our community. We have wonderful area restaurants that have donated food and our employers have made wonderful desserts and so all people need to do is come to the event, and consider to support this worthwhile cause.”

The event is held in cooperation with the Cape Coral Community Foundation, a tax-exempt charitable organization created through gifts by many generous community minded individuals, said officials.

Whether your interests are in the arts, education, health care, animal welfare, the environment, preservation or human services, they will

work to distribute philanthropic funds.
