The Florida Highway Patrol is asking motorists to avoid Interstate 75 and Daniels Parkway due to a traffic crash.

Northbound and southbound I-75 is temporarily closed due to possible structural damage, officials reported.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is Colonial Boulevard to Treeline Avenue, to Alico Road; the alternative route for northbound traffic is Alico to Treeline, to Colonial.

Traffic on Daniels can enter I-75 north and south as of this time.

Traffic traveling northbound will be diverted at Alico, and southbound traffic will be diverted at Colonial.
