Fraternal Order Of Eagles

The Fraternal Order Of Eagles #3957 will have its “Half-Way to St. Pattys Day” celebration on Saturday between 2 and 6 p.m.. Come on down wearing your green for a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner (only $8/or a sandwich for $5). Bud Smith will keep your feet tapping for the occasion. Also for entertainment this week: The Real Deal on Wednesday, Hub Cap on Thursday and Jerry Ward on Friday. We have brought back Monday night Bingo at 6, as well as Wednesday at 1. Breakfast is served on the weekends, Lunch: Tuesday through Friday and Dinner: Wednesday through Saturday. New chefs,Walter and Karen O’Rourke, have a great new menu with something to please everyone. Also, football is finally back! Come on in and cheer on your favorite team. Bonsai Society

A bonsai workshop will be the feature of The Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida’s monthly meeting on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Support Personnel Association of Lee County (SPALC) Building at 6281 Metro Plantation Road, Fort Myers, at 9 a.m.

Mike Cartrett, a popular Florida bonsai artist, will provide a demonstration and hold a workshop using dwarf clusia.

The public is invited to attend the meeting. There is no charge for attending and parking is free.

Bonsai is a horticultural art of growing trees in pots. It had its origins in China and Japan. Information about bonsai and the association will be available at the meeting.

New Resident Club

The New Resident Club is a social organization for both couples and singles. Full time and part-time residents are welcome. If you’ve lived in Cape Coral for less than three years then now is the time to join! If you’ve resided here longer than three years then you can join the club in September when we have open enrollment.

The club offers monthly activities and network opportunities. Monthly events consists of cocktails on the cape, dinner/dance, ladies luncheon, coffee social, game night, bowling, golfing, book club, potlucks and so much more. Whether you are a full time or part time resident, single or married September is the month that you don’t have to be a “new” to join.

The social club was founded in 1967 with over 500 current members formed to help people meet new friends and learn about the community. Members receive an offer of a free one month subscription to The Breeze, our local newspaper. During the general meeting, dinner dances and at the ladies luncheon special raffles are held. Generous donations are given by local businesses to welcome our members and become acquainted with their services.

Cost of membership is $35 for two years.

Fraternal Order of Eagles

The Fraternal Order of Eagles wants to remind members that dues are to be paid by Aug. 31. Red key cards will not work after that date so please don’t risk being dropped from our membership list. Entertainment this week will include Jerry Ward tonight, The Real Deal on Thursday and J.R. Bradford on Friday. Lunch is served weekdays and dinner is available on Thursday and Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. Breakfast is available Saturday mornings followed by Show Me The Eagle at 2. Italian American Club

The Italian American Club holds its “Pasta Night” Dinner from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Pasta Night features a variety of Italian sauces over pasta or choose from a selection of sandwich specials w/side salad or fries. All dinners are $9.

The Cape Coral Italian American Club, 4725 Vincennes Blvd., Cape Coral has a beautiful ballroom used weekly for fine dining and dancing at reasonable prices. It is also available for parties, receptions, and banquets fit for any occasion. They are always open to the public!

Cape Coral 912

Cape Coral 912, a community-based organization, presenting and teaching the Constitution and constitutional principles to school-age children, holds its monthly meeting on the second Saturday of each month at Rodino’s Pizzeria at 11 a.m. The address is 2110 Santa Barbara.

Tiger Bay Club

of Southwest Florida

The Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida has announced that political consultant and commentator James Carville will headline the club’s annual dinner event, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 17 , at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs. Registration and networking will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner and program at 7.

Carville is nationally recognized as a political consultant, analyst, pundit, media personality and author of best-selling books on a broad range of topics. The former co-host of CNN’s “Crossfire” gained prominence as a political mastermind for his work on Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign. Carville, nicknamed “The Ragin’ Cajun,” is a recurring guest on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” and often debates political topics with his wife, Republican strategist Mary Matalin.

Carville’s presentation will provide insight into the post-convention political scene and what he expects for the November elections. The no-holds-barred summary will include analysis of both parties’ efforts to win the White House, U.S. Senate and House seats, and much more.

Individual tickets are available to club members and the general public for $200, which includes dinner.

The Cape Coral Lions Club meets at the Perkins on Cape Coral Parkway/Del Prado at 6 p.m. the first and third Thursday of the month. MOAA

The Calusa chapter of the Military Officers Association of America normally meets the second Saturday of each month from September through May at the Wine and Roses restaurant at 1404 Cape Coral Parkway in Cape Coral.
