A Cape Coral man is accused of exposing himself to a child under 12.

Earle Antoine Nevel, 32, of 1329 S.W. Second Place, was arrested and charged Friday with one count of sexual assault by 18 years of age or older sexual battery victim under 12 years of age, according to jail records.

As of Tuesday, he remained at the Lee County Jail without bond.

On July 26, a woman stopped by the Cape Coral Police Department and reported that Nevel may have exposed himself to her daughter, a report states. Detectives responded to the lobby and opened an investigation.

No more details were available Tuesday about the alleged incident.

Cape police came into contact with Nevel at his residence Friday. A check revealed that he had an open warrant for his arrest, according to an arrest report. He was taken into custody and transported to the jail for booking.

Nevel has a court appearance scheduled for Sept. 24.
