The Surf and Song Foundation will be holding its first fund-raiser of the season at the Nauti Turtle, 19001 San Carlos Blvd., Sunday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 10 p.m.

During the all-afternoon, all-evening event, benefit-goers can rely on plenty of live music, food specials, drinks specials, raffle prizes, silent auctions and more.

“The Nauti Turtle is generously donating funds from their sales that day to the foundation, so bring your hunger and your thirst, and party at the Nauti,” said Fritz Caraher, Surf and Song Foundation president, chairman of the board and benefit coordinator.

Here is the complete line-up of music that day:

2 p.m.: Cowboy Up

3 p.m.: Grayson Rodgers Band

4 p.m.: Chris Workman

5 p.m.: We Ain’t Right

6 p.m.: Rock Solid

7 p.m.: Patrick Murphy

8 p.m.: UltraStomp

The “Surf and Song Festival” is an annual charity event that is supported by musicians, artists and businesses for the enjoyment of our community and to raise funds and awareness for a range of charities.

The group’s flagship charity is the Lee Memorial Health System’s Southwest Florida Children’s Hospital and its “Navigating Autism” program.

“We strive to continue to demonstrate, be it one person or 100, we can all make a positive difference where we live – and with those among us!”

This year’s main festival will span over two days in March, in downtown Fort Myers, featuring some of the best live and local acts around town.

The group has officially become the Surf and Song Foundation, a non-profit organization under which members conduct all of the fund-raising efforts.

“This year will be our largest and most ambitious festival to date, expanding to two full days of music, art, food, vendors and family fun,” Fritz said. “We will continue our tradition of helping raise awareness for all non-profit and charitable organizations in our community. Our goal will always be to help as many people as possible through our local music and arts, as well as continually expand to a national stage, bringing help to as many of the less fortunate in Southwest Florida as we can.”
