FORT MYERS – During June, 454,044 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 4 percent compared to June 2011. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 6 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in June was Delta with 114,905 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (74,766), Southwest (71,583), JetBlue (49,278) and US Airways (41,935).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,905 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 7.5 percent compared to June 2011. Page Field saw 6,108 movements, a 2.8 percent increase from June 2011. In addition, 2.7 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in June 2012, an increase of 12.9 percent compared to June 2011.
