Shooting investigation under way in Suncoast Estates
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting in Suncoast Estates in North Fort Myers.
Officials received a 911 call at 5:04 a.m. Tuesday and sent deputies to 8190 Breeze Drive where they found a white male shooting victim in his 20s on the ground outside of the residence.
A witness there told deputies a black male wearing a white shirt and red pants had fled the scene. The shooting victim was transported to the hospital via trauma alert where he remained in critical condition Monday afternoon. His identity has not been released.
Deputies established a perimeter and K-9 and Aviation units responded but the shooter was not located.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit were told it appears the victim and the suspect knew each other and were in an argument in the driveway just before the shooting occurred.
Detectives are still attempting to identify the man described by the witness and would like to speak with anyone with any information on his identity or this shooting.
