Officials have released the name of a motorcyclist who died in a traffic crash shortly after noon Saturday.

David Felty, 68, of North Fort Myers, died at the scene of the crash at Fowler and Market Street in Fort Myers after the driver of a van turned into the path of his motorcycle, police said.

According to Fort Myers police, the driver of a van was traveling south on Fowler Street. The motorcyclist was headed north on Fowler Street. Both had green lights. The driver of the van attempted to make a left turn onto Market Street but drove into the path of the motorcyclist and the two collided.

Investigators say the driver of the van was at fault and will be issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

The name of the driver of the van has not been released.
