Sweetbay launches coffee drive for troops
Sweetbay Supermarket is launching its annual coffee drive for troops overseas today, Wednesday, June 27, at 9:30 a.m., and will collect coffee donations through the Fourth of July.
“Sweetbay has hosted this coffee drive for troops overseas for four years now. It’s the very least we can do for all the sacrifices they make for us every day,” said Sweetbay Supermarket spokesperson Nicole LeBeau.
Feedback shows an increasing need for the number one requested item shipped to troops – coffee. The supermarket chain supports U.S. troops at home and overseas. That’s why Sweetbay is urging shoppers and community members to stop by any local Sweetbay Supermarket the days before July Fourth and buy a bag, brick or container of coffee to donate to our troops.
Sweetbay will make sure the donated coffee gets delivered to active duty military in the most remote areas in more than 17 countries around the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
“A donation will also be made to Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation, an organization that helps Southwest Florida’s veterans and their families transition back to day-to-day living,” LeBeau said. “This non-profit volunteer organization is made up of veterans, which is exactly the right group to recognize on our country’s most patriotic holiday. We encourage the community to come into Sweetbay stores and pick up a brick of coffee to show your support too.”
Sweetbay Supermarket is located at 1016 Cape Coral Parkway, E., in downtown Cape Coral.
