Anthony’s on the BLVD to hold breast cancer fund raiser today
Anthony’s on the BLVD will hold a fundraiser for the “Save the ta-tas Foundation,” today beginning at 11:30 a.m. and going through midnight.
The event has several components. A fashion show by Razzle Dazzle Boutique, a Pig Roast with live entertainment day and night and a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament.
Proceeds will go to the foundation, which raises money to fund breast cancer research.
It’s a cause near and dear to the heart of Anthony Serrago, owner of Anthony’s.
“The primary reason we are doing this is because of my sister, who is the youngest of seven children and the only girl. Last year she was diagnosed with breast cancer,” he said. “She’s doing well today but has had several surgeries. She’s currently going through a second reconstructive surgery. That’s why I choose this cause.”
His restaurant also participates in Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society and contributed several thousands of dollars this year.
“We’ll start cooking the pig roast at 7 a.m. and will have pulled pork by 1 p.m. and full pork at 3 p.m.”
The event starts with a fashion show at 11:30 a.m.
Razzle Dazzle Boutique Shop in Cape Coral will host the fashion show. The show is $10 and includes lunch. Razzle Dazzle is a specialty ladies clothing shop that carries popular designer brand clothing like Jeggings, Impulse and more. Cathy Sangiovanni is the owner of Razzle Dazzle Boutique, along with her husband Ralph.
“Expect to see hot, hot fashions,” she said “Bright colors, light weight, unusual and different, not found in department stores.”
They’ve been in business 22 years, in downtown Cape on Cape Coral Parkway east.
“I’ve been a Cape Coral resident for 52 years, I’m a pioneer,” she said.
“The Pig Roast technically starts at noon, and live music starts at 1 p.m. and will last to midnight. From 1 to 3 p.m. we’ll have Jukebox Hero, a Cape Coral band. From 3 to 5 p.m. it will be Mike King, and Elvis impersonator, and the George Lewis Project is from 8 p.m. to midnight,” Serrago said.
The Poker Tournament is at 3 p.m. and has a $30 buy-in. “There will be three cash prizes award in a 50/50 split of entry fees for the tournament, the other 50 percent to go to the charity.”
