Report: Cape Coral resident dies after falling into pool
A 77-year-old Cape Coral man reportedly died after falling into a pool.
Ronald Penistan of 411 S.E. 15th Terrace had expired as of Tuesday, according to hospital officials. He was taken to the hospital on Saturday.
At about 8:30 p.m. June 16, Cape police responded to a report of a drowning at a home on Southeast 15th Terrace. Penistan’s wife stated that she was lying in bed watching television when he came in the room and fell on a dresser.
Penistan walked out of the room and she later heard a splash in their pool, she said. She found Penistan face down in the water, not moving. She pulled him to the steps, and tried to keep his head above water while dialing 911.
Medics were able to get a faint pulse on scene, according to a report.
Penistan was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he later died.
