A dozen musicians will play an afternoon of original music this weekend during the first Low Key Tiki Song Writers Fest.

“The Low Key Tiki Songwriter’s Fest is a great summer event created by Scott and Barb Adams,” said Kerri Harvey, the emcee and headliner of the event.

Harvey and her husband, Gary, will close the show at 7 p.m. Saturday with old and new music after 11 other musicians perform.

Those musicians include Pat and Tom Mccune, Dave Lapio, Bob “O” the Cook, Kip Lawrence, Jimmy Louis and Corky, Joe Sardo, Joe Virga, T.J. Brown, Cindy Walsh and Marshall, Silver and Paul Roush.

“This is a great way for songwriters and musicians to come together, not only to showcase their original music, but to also support each other,” Kerri said.

Harvey said when she and Gary were asked by the Adams to host the event, they did not hesitate.

“Working for Scott and Barb has been a total privilege and we absolutely love songwriters and musicians who perform their music alike,” Kerri said. “Not everyone has a venue to perform in, so this lends a great opportunity for everyone involved.”

She said the event will light a fire in the musicians to write a new song, along with giving them a stage to showcase their new music.

“This is really all about original music, which is what musicians really love because they can be themselves,” Kerri said.

The festival will kick off at 11:55 a.m. with Kerri performing the national anthem, which will immediately be followed by Pat and Tom Mccune, who will take the stage at noon.

“Come early,” Kerri said. “You do not want to miss this.”

There will be constant music from noon until 8 p.m., along with merchandise for sale from all the songwriters at the festival.

Low Key Tiki is located at 3135 Stringfellow Road in St. James City on Pine Island.
