Goodwill to open Cape drop-off site
Cape Coral will soon have a new Goodwill Industries Attended Donation Center drop off location, the only freestanding drop off location in the area.
“This is in addition to the three stores we have in Cape Coral, one on Pine Island Road, one on Chiquita and one on Del Prado,” said Goodwill of SW Florida, Inc. Vice President of Communications and Development Director Carolyn Johnson.
“It is a stand-alone ADC,” she said. “We will begin accepting donations there on approximately May 15 of this year. Currently, this will be the only stand-alone center in Cape Coral.
Goodwill has leased 1,340 square feet of retail space at The Shops at Santa Barbara. The location is 2209 Santa Barbara Blvd. Unit 106, and will serve as a drop off location for gently used clothing, housewares, electronics, accessories, and more.
Hours will be Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
“Goodwill thanks the community for its support in providing donations,” Johnson said. “We are doing well with our donations. Donors play a vital role in our ability to fulfill our mission of helping people go to work. With the addition of this new ADC we will be able to generate 5,000 more donors per year which translates into job opportunities and other community-based programs for people with disabilities and other disadvantages.”
