A Cape Coral woman has been picked up on a warrant in connection to a traffic accident last month that resulted in the death of her toddler.

Monique Trinity Oneill-Daghra, 31, of 538 S.E. Sixth Place, was booked Wednesday morning at the Lee County Jail on aggravated manslaughter of a child. According to records, she remained in custody on $15,000 bond.

A man who answered the door at her home declined to comment.

At 7:49 a.m. Feb. 22, the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a crash near the intersection of Fowler Street and Market Street. The driver of a Cadillac, Oneill-Daghra, had reportedly rear-ended another vehicle.

A 2-year-old girl in the Cadillac, Eva Daghra, was trauma alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital. She later died from the injuries that she sustained.

No one else was injured in the accident.

According to police, Eva was sitting in the front passenger seat in a car seat, but she was not harnessed into the car seat. The car seat also was not anchored down to the Cadillac. During the accident, the air bag deployed.

Sgt. Dana Coston, with the Cape police, said the felony warrant went into effect Tuesday after Circuit Court Judge Margaret Steinbeck signed it.

Oneill-Daghra has a court appearance scheduled May 7.
