Nearly 800,000 travelers pass through RSW in February
During February, 781,849 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 1 percent compared to February 2011. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 2 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in February was Delta with 160,313 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (123,694), Southwest (104,718), US Airways (87,635) and JetBlue (83,470).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,160 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 3 percent compared to February 2011. Page Field saw 7,614 movements, a 2.5 percent increase from February 2011. In addition, nearly 2.9 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in February 2012, an increase of 4.8 percent compared to February 2011.
