Charity basketball tournament begins tonight
The Cape Coral Police Department will host a charity basketball tournament that tips off tonight and runs through the weekend.
The tournament will be held at Mariner High School and is comprised of teams made up of Southwest Florida public safety professionals.
Teams from the Cape Coral Police Department, Fort Myers Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Port Authority Police Department, Cape Coral Fire Department, Fort Myers Fire Department, Iona-McGregor Fire Department and Lee County EMS will square off in a “March Madness” style tournament with the proceeds going to charity.
Admission is free however donations will be accepted for the Police Athletic League, benefiting Southwest Florida’s youth.
The opening rounds begin on Thursday night beginning at 4 p.m.
Additional rounds will be held on Saturday beginning at noon and the Championship rounds are on Sunday and tip off at noon.
