Watt, Fischer selected to JA Business Hall of Fame

By Staff

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida will induct Scott Fischer of Scott Fischer Enterprises and Barbara Watt of Century 21 Sunbelt Realty into the 2012 Business of Hall of Fame, Lee County, at a dinner and awards ceremony on April 25 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Estero. The prestigious award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who serve as role models for youth through their professional accomplishments and commitment to the community.

Fischer and Watt will join a distinguished group of individuals who have been inducted into the Business Hall of Fame since it was founded in 1987.

Fischer is the owner and chief executive officer of Scott Fischer Enterprises, which operates four Harley-Davidson dealerships: two in Southwest Florida, one in Alabama and one in New Mexico. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Fischer began racing motorcycles competitively and working in the motorsports industry as a teenager, starting as a lot porter for Classic Cycles. Over the years, Fischer has developed an extensive understanding of the industry by working in all areas of the business including service, parts, sales and operations. This led him to Fort Myers more than 20 years ago where he managed a Kawasaki/Harley Dealership. Two years later he purchased that location. Since 1988, Scott has acquired and opened several motorsports dealerships, before he decided to focus on the Harley brand three years ago. Today his four locations are some of the strongest in the industry.

Fischer is currently president of the National Dealer Advisory Council for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company and president of the Florida Harley- Davidson Dealer Association, chairman of Blessings in a Backpack of Lee County, Revenue Chairman for March of Dimes Bikers for Babies and a member of several community organizations.

Watt is the founder and owner of Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, which she established in Fort Myers in 1984. Starting with one office, Century 21 Sunbelt Realty now has five offices in Southwest Florida and earned the position of the number one Century 21 Office in the World in 2005. Watt is a frequent keynote speaker and participates in conferences worldwide and attended a 2006 conference in Turkey and a 2010 event in Japan in recognition of the company’s 25th anniversary.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Watt has always been a high-achiever, starting with fishing in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska when she was in her early 20s. She went on to open a nightclub in Key West before moving to Fort Myers. Watt and her husband Bob Biggs are committed philanthropists and support numerous charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Hope Hospice, The Lee Memorial Health System, Easter Seals, the Humane Society, the Southwest Florida Symphony, Do the Right Thing and other youth programs.
