Cape man dies from injuries suffered in robbery

A Cape Coral man seriously hurt in an armed robbery in Fort Myers early Sunday morning has died from his injuries.

The victim, who was working at the Back Bay Market at 394 Ortiz Avenue, has been identified as Muhammad Ali, 29.

The manner of death is not being disclosed at this time, officials with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to the market before 2 am., officials said, adding the convenience store was open at the time of the robbrey.

Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit have released additional surveillance pictures from the armed robbery. One of the suspects is wearing what appears to be a Spiderman mask. The other suspect is wearing what appears to be a Grim Reaper mask with white and black detailing.
