The public will have an opportunity to voice their opinions during host of public meetings next week.

Cape Coral City Council will be holding its workshop Monday and the final public budget hearing on Thursday.

The Community Redevelopment Agency is holding two public meetings Tuesday. The first, at 3:30 p.m., will be a joint meeting between the CRA board and the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss the land use and zoning regulations for the third phase of the CRA’s new 2030 Vision Plan.

The CRA’s regular monthly meeting will follow at 5:30 p.m. on the same day, during which the board will discuss and vote on some of the following issues:

– Sponsoring the “Kiwanis Wake the Cape” concert to the tune of $1,000. The concert is expected to be free and open to the public and include local bands and local restaurants.

– An update of the Walgreens project eyed for the corner Coronado and Cape Coral parkways. Currently in the PDP phase, the project is expected to be presented by Joe Mazurkiewicz, representing Walgreens, and Chad Boyko, from the city’s Planning and Growth Management Division.

– CRA Intern Chandler French is expected to present his most recent findings on the Rubican Canal project, which, as proposed, would connect the Bimini Basin to the Rubican Canal.

Items that City Council will be discussing during its workshop meeting on Monday at 4:30 p.m. include:

– Waiving over $57,000 in impact fees for the “Shops at Skyline,” a mixed use development at the corner of Skyline Boulevard and Trafalger Trafalgar. The development is planned to have over 18,000 square feet of retail space and a gas station with convenience store.

– Council will discuss authorizing City Manager Gary King to implement and manage an “Enhance Energy Risk Management Program,” a fuel cost containment program. Bank of America and Fifth Third Bank are interested in the program, according to city documentation.

– Council will discuss an interlocal agreement with the Lee County School District to build sidewalks east side of Chiquita Boulevard from Northwest 4th Street to the south end of Mariner High School. The actual construction is to be performed by city’s in-house crew and the School Board will pay the city a rate of $30 per linear foot. The work is to be finished by Dec. 31, 2012, according to city documentation.
