CCPD investigating armed robbery of convenience store
A man robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Tuesday in Cape Coral.
At about 3:45 a.m., Cape police responded to a report of a robbery in the first block of Northeast Pine Island Road. Two employees stated that a man dressed in black entered the store with a revolver, according to a report.
The man pointed the gun at them and told them to remain calm. He then demanded cash in the register and one employees handed over $40 in cash. The robber then fled from the store heading westbound along the building.
Police set up a perimeter and the K-9 Unit and Aviation Unit responded.
