Red, White & Brew set for Saturday
The Fourth of July festivities will kick off today with the Kiwanis South Cape Red White & Brew for those who want to taste American beers and appetizers at restaurants in downtown Cape Coral.
The event, which is $15, will be held from 7-11 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at Leapin Lizard, 1719 Cape Coral Pkwy. and Big John’s Plaza beginning at 5:30 p.m. today.
A trolley, which is included in the ticket price, will take the ticket holders to various venues participating in the event.
Check-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Leapin Lizard and the Big John Plaza with final check-in at 8 p.m.
The tasting locations will include Leapin Lizard, Bahama Mama, Cruiser’s, The Dek, Chicago Pizza, Cape Dog & Deli, Ralph’s Place, La Terraza 47, Rack’em Billards, Time to Make Wine, Back Streets, Club Royal Key, Wine & Roses, Paradise Tiki Bar and the Monkey Bar.
Kiwanis President Sam Huber said each location will have American micro-brews and domestic beer samples, along with an appetizer for participants to try.
Huber said this is the first time they will host Red White and Brew. The event has been held by the South Cape Community Redevelopment Agency in past years.
All of the proceeds from Red White & Brew will go towards the Kiwanis Club’s backpack program, which is now feeding 1,000 school children a week.
The event is for those who are 21 years old and older.
