Red, White & Brew to be held July 2 in South Cape
Those interested in tasting American beers and enjoying a variety of appetizers are in for a treat when the Kiwanis South Cape Red, White and Brew is event is held the Fourth of July weekend.
The event, which costs $15, will be held Saturday, July 2, from 7-11 p.m., in downtown Cape Coral.
Tickets can be purchased at the Kiwanis Thrift Store South, 712 S.E. 47th Terrace; Ralph’s Liquor Store in Big John Plaza; and Roses Restaurant, 1404 Cape Coral Parkway.
Leapin Lizard, at 1719 Cape Coral Parkway, and Big John’s Plaza will have tickets available starting at 5:30 p.m. on July 2.
Credit card purchases must be done at the Kiwanis Thrift Store. Cash and checks are accepted at any of the locations.
A trolley will take the ticket holders to the various locations participating in the event, which is included in the $15 ticket price.
The check-in for the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Leapin’ Lizard and the Big John Plaza. The last check-in time ends at 8 p.m.
The tasting locations are Leapin’ Lizard, Bahama Mama, Cruiser’s, The Dek, Chicago Pizza, Cape Dog & Deli, Ralph’s Place, La Terraza 47, Rack’em Billards, Time to Make Wine, Back Streets, Club Royal Key, Wine & Roses, Paradise Tiki Bare and the Monkey Bar.
“We are very excited about it,” Kiwanis President Sam Huber said. “We have had great participation from bars and restaurants.”
Huber said each location is putting out American micro-brews and domestic beer samples, along with an appetizer.
“I encourage everyone to come out and have as much fun as possible,” Huber said. “We want to showcase what the South Cape has to offer.”
Huber said this is the first time the club is hosting the Red, White and Brew event. The event has been held by the CRA in past years.
All the proceeds will go towards the Kiwanis Club’s backpack program, which is now feeding 1,000 school children a week.
“We expect great things next year,” Huber said about the backpack program.
The event is for those who are 21 years old and older.
