Man pulled from submerged vehicle
A driver was taken to a hospital this morning after being removed from a vehicle that became submerged in a Cape Coral canal.
At about 10 a.m., a boater called 911 and stated that a vehicle was in a canal near 3804 Surfside Blvd. with people possibly inside. Emergency crews arrived and a man was removed from the vehicle, a white 1996 Ford SUV.
Lt. Tony Sizemore, spokesman for the police, said CPR was performed.
The man was taken to a hospital. His condition was unknown this afternoon.
“We have a traffic investigator working it,” Sizemore said of the crash.
