One person died and a second was hospitalized in an early-morning crash on West Bay Boulevard and Marsh Turtle Trail Thursday.
Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responding to the single-vehicle accident within the West Bay community at 2:16 a.m. found a vehicle with four occupants had crashed into a tree.
One of the passengers was pronounced dead on the scene. A second passenger was air lifted to an area hospital. The driver and a third passenger were not injured.
The deceased has been identified as Ryan Gilhooly, 29. He was visiting from Ohio. His address is not available at this time.
The driver has been identified as Danielle N. Bowman, 25, of 20257 Royal Villagio Court, #201, Estero. She has been charged with one count of DUI manslaughter, one count of DUI involving serious bodily injury and one count of DUI.
Traffic homicide detectives are investigating the crash.
