Safe containing cash stolen from Cape home
A safe containing $8,000 in cash was reportedly removed for a home Sunday in southwest Cape Coral.
Police responded to a burglary call at about 3:40 p.m. at a home in the 2200 block of Southwest First Street. A man reported that his safe, which was in his bedroom when he left earlier that afternoon, and its contents were gone.
The safe is black, weighs about 40 pounds and has a dial lock and key.
The man told police that he had $8,000 in cash in the safe because he does not use a bank, according to a police report. The safe is worth about $150.
Guns, flat screen televisions and other valuables were left untouched.
