Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau are teaming up to help the family of a fallen deputy. On Saturday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 26, members of the media and public are invited to attend a charity flag football and softball game in honor of Deputy Scott Wheeler.
Wheeler was killed in a motorcycle crash on Jan. 12 atthe intersection of Pine Island Road and Skyline Boulevard in Cape Coral. He is survived by his two children and his fiancé, who is currently expecting the couple’s third child.
General admission is $5. Children under the age of 5 receive free admission. All proceeds will go to Wheeler’s family.
The event will be held at 11 a.m., both days,at the Brooks Community Park, located at 50 South Road, Fort Myers, right next to the Page Field Airport.
