Northbound Lanes of Del Prado Boulevard closed from Viscaya to Southest 6th Street
The northbound lanes of Del Prado Boulevard remain were from Viscaya Boulevard to Southeast 6th Street while crews worked to remove a large, concrete utility pole that fell from a transport truck Monday morning.
At 11:37 a.m., Cape Coral Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a pole had fallen from a semi-tractor trailer traveling northbound on Del Prado across from the Cape Coral Hospital. Because of the size of the pole, the accident required Cape Police to close all three northbound lanes between Viscaya Parkway and Southeast 6th Street.
Traffic was still being rerouted at 2:40 p.m, and the lanes will remain closed until the pole has been removed from the roadway.
Cape Police estimated that this may take at least another hour, and the road could reopen by 3:30 p.m.
