Statement from Dick Ripp regarding Republican primary, Lee County Commission

By Staff

Dick Ripp has issued the following statement in the Republican Primary for county commission:

It was a long and trying – but rewarding – campaign. We gave it everything we had – and them some – and have no regrets. I want to congratulate the winner, Brian Bigelow, and assure him that he can count on my support. I hope he goes on to do great things for Lee County in his next four years on the Board of County Commissioners; and, as I told him when I called to congratulate him this evening, if there’s anything I can do to help, all he has to do is let me know. For the truth is, while I haven’t always agreed with the way he did things, there is a great deal of agreement with respect to his positions on many of the issues.
As a Conservative Republican, I will endeavor to keep his “feet to the fire” to ensure that he fulfills his campaign promises of more jobs, lower taxes and fees, more transparency in Government, and a better life for all in Lee County. And, if the opportunity presents itself, I’d be happy to work side-by-side with him and Lee County to try to make this a better place for our children and grandchildren.
I thank God for setting me on the campaign path, my lovely wife Pam for being a bulwark of support, and for being a good sport during the long campaign, and my friends and supporters who worked so diligently and well for me, and the wonderful people of Lee County who trusted my message, believed in my integrity, and gave me their most precious votes.
Lee County’s challenges are too urgent and too severe for us not to work together and unite to help get Lee County back on the path of Prosperity and Fiscal Accountability and Responsibility.
God Bless Lee County, and God Bless you all…….THANK YOU!
