Cape police investigating apparent murder-suicide
Cape Coral police are investigation a shooting that left two people dead Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide.
Investigators are conducting the death investigation at 2731 S.W. 2nd Lane where they were called at approximately 4:10 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call from this residence.
When officers arrived they discovered two individuals dead from gun shot wounds, officials said.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased were involved in a relationship and lived together at the residence, according to Cape Coral police.There were witnesses on scene who have indicated that the male shot the woman and then himself.
The man is not being identified at this time pending notification of the next of kin. The woman has been identified as Kelly Kristen Abrams, 31.
While the investigation is on-going, detectives have learned that Abrams was taking steps to end the relationship when the man became angry, officials said. The two began to argue in a back bedroom when Abrams was shot. At that point, the witnesses fled the residence and called 9-1-1.
Since this is an on-going investigation, the witnesses are not being identified.
