Tickets still available for Best Martini Competition
One of the Cape’s more popular, upscale celebrations returns next week, as the fourth annual South Cape Best Martini Competition plans to shake, and stir, downtown for one incredible night.
Twelve restaurants are taking part in the festivities, pairing one-of-a-kind martinis with unique appetizers.
CRA Public Relations Manager Helen Ramey said this event differs from other tasting events in downtown because the emphasis is on taste and style.
“This is a quality tasting event, not a drinking competition,” Ramey said. “It’s a good way to discover what the South Cape entertainment establishments have to offer, all in one evening and for only $20.”
The $20 ticket entitles all participants to a “passport” to martinis and appetizers at all 12 sampling locations, along with free trolley service between 7 – 11 pm.
Three categories of martinis are planned: classic, exotic, and dessert, with flavors like Starburst, Lemon Drop, Blue Dolphin and more.
Those wild tastes will be paired with delicious appetizers like grilled marinated skewer of chicken with pineapple and mango drizzle, grilled skewer of beef tenderloin with boursin cheese and caramelized onion on a Parisian round, pulled pork sliders, to name a few.
With only 1,000 tickets being sold for the competition, those lucky enough to have one will be able get in on the voting, to help decide who’s serving the best martini in all of South Cape.
Though some tickets are available, Helen Ramey is warning people without tickets to hurry up and grab a few.
“The past three year’s events completely sold out,” Ramey said.
Safety is also on the menu next weekend, as “Special Designated Driver Tickets” are available for $10 for groups of two or more, and will allow the designated driver to taste all the appetizers and have access to the trolleys.
The 4th annual South Cape Best Martini Competition is Saturday, Jan. 30, 7 – 11p.m.
Tickets are available at the following locations: Leapin Lizard, True Value Hardware, June’s Hallmark, Ralph’s Place, and Cape Dog Bakery.
