Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium to hold a ‘Telescope Renaissance Night’

By Staff

Have a telescope and never really learned how to use it? Want to know how to locate night sky objects through binoculars? The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium invites you to attend the Telescope Renaissance Night, Nov. 5, from 7 to 10 p.m.
During the evening, volunteers from the Southwest Florida Astronomical Society, Inc. will assist Nature Center staff and help check out, set up, and try to fix up telescopes brought in by the public, and will also provide tips on how to get the most out of the instruments. The event is also open for those planning the purchase of a telescope who would like to compare the many choices available and discuss them with experienced telescope users.
Telescope Renaissance Night is being held in celebration of the International Year of Astronomy and the 400th anniversary of the telescope. Donations are accepted for this event.
