Gearhead Tattoo will throw its free third birthday bash, to be hosted by Rack’em Billiards, tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight.
“It is something we do every year for our anniversary,” said Kelly Rogers, owner and operator of GearHead Tattoo.
“It is a thank you to the community and the patrons who support the tattoo shop,” he said.
Rogers said he is expecting approximately 1,000 to 2,000 people to attend the birthday bash this year. He explained that individuals can expect a G-rated, good wholesome family event.
The bash with feature a pre-1976 car show and approximately 200 motorcycles from two motorcycle clubs, Rogers said.
Rogers said the birthday bash will incorporate a car cruise, with a specific drive through route straight through downtown Cape Coral, with anywhere from 30 to 70 cars following each other to the Rack’em Billiards.
The event also will include free live music featuring rockabilly bands, along with food and alcoholic beverages for sale, Rogers said.
The line-up of bands include The Redliners, The Gladezmen, Viva La Vox, Hollowbody Hellraisers and special guests from North Carolina featuring Flat Tires.
Rogers said the Abate Chapter of South Florida, a motorcycle rights organization that fights for all laws concerning regulations for motorcycles, will also be at the birthday bash.
The Abate Chapter will host a poker run and 20th anniversary party, to raise money for two chapter members Rob and Lyn Assenzio, who were recently involved in a bad accident. Registration will be held at 6 p.m. with the last call at 9 p.m.
“It is a fun, free event that I’m giving back to the community,” Rogers said. “Every year it’s going to be bigger and better.”
The birthday bash will be held at Rack’em Billiards located at 1011 SE 47th Terrace.
