Cape Christian Fellowship will give away 700 backpacks with school supplies in them on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jim Jeffers Park, 2810 S.W. 3rd Lane.
There will be inflatable games, free food, music and cotton candy at the block party. The backpacks were donated by members of Cape Christian Fellowship and by Florida Gulf Bank. Other food and supplies for the block party are being donated by BJ’s Warehouse and Starbucks.
This event is a part of SWFL Project Backpack — a combined effort of four churches in southwest Florida giving away thousands of backpacks simultaneously in four locations (Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Estero and Naples).
