Summer Safety Day set for Saturday
The Fort Myers Police Department will hold a Summer Safety Day on Saturday, June 27, at the Edison Mall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Summer is here and with kids out of school, the one-day event is aimed to remind children and parents to enjoy their summer activities with safety in mind.
Activities will include McGruff the Crime Dog, crime prevention tips, fingerprint kits, the department’s Drug Abuse and Resistance Education (DARE) car equipped with a flat screen TV and Sony Playstation, and the Police Explorers. Kids can also checkout a real police car and a fire engine from the Fort Myers Fire Department.
The event is free and open to the public.
