Minor League Baseball

By Staff | May 29, 2009

David Ortiz, Joe Mauer and Torii Hunter are among the notable Major League Baseball players who developed their skills with the Fort Myers Miracle, the Class-A minor league team of the Minnesota Twins.

The Miracle have played at the Lee County Sports Complex and Hammond Stadium since 1991 and are members of the Florida State League.

The Miracle have a proud tradition of developing players who have gone on to successful big-league careers, mostly with the Minnesota Twins. They’re also known for the fun family atmosphere at Hammond Stadium.

The 2009 Florida State League All-Star Game returns to Hammond Stadium June 20.

In 2009, the Charlotte Stone Crabs, a Class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, began play in the Florida State League. The Stone Crabs play their home games at Charlotte Sports Park.
