Cape teen who questioned Obama to provide commentary at Miracle hometown opener
Julio Osegueda will have his one-game debut as color commentator on the Miracle’s radio broadcast Friday night.
The Cape Coral native who caught President Barack Obama’s attention in February during a nationally televised town hall meeting in Fort Myers will join Zach Spear on Relevant Radio 1410/1660 AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
Osegueda has been on a whirlwind trip after gaining national attention from his exchange with President Obama.
“Man it has been crazy. Such a blessing to have all this attention and so many opportunities to spread the word,” said Osegueda, who is still working at a local McDonald’s.
The 19-year old has been preparing himself for Friday’s opportunity ever since the Miracle approached him with the opportunity to be on the radio.
“I printed off the rosters and have been studying them and watching as many games as I can. I am telling so many people about the Miracle and I can’t wait,” said Osegueda in a prepared statement issued by the Miracle.
The Miracle will open the 2009 Florida State League season against the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Thursday, April 9, in Charlotte.
