North Fort Myers man charged with molesting 9-year-old

By Staff

A 72-year-old North Fort Myers man is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl multiple times over the past two years.
Burton Randall Admire, of 7566 Ebson Drive, was charged by Cape Coral police with lewd and lascivious molestation, a first-degree felony.
Admire declined comment to the Breeze by telephone Thursday evening, stating that “I have an attorney and we’re dealing with it.”
Jail records show Admire was booked into the Lee County Jail on Tuesday, and released Wednesday night on $30,000 bond.
The mother of the alleged victim told Department of Children and Families workers in November that Admire had molested her daughter multiple times, according to city spokesperson Connie Barron.
Cape Coral Police Detective Brice Bearman investigated the incident and found probable cause for Admire’s arrest, Barron said.
According to an affidavit statement written by Bearman, the victim told her mother that Admire had touched her inappropriately on several occasions, as well as watched her change her clothing to “check on her.”
A subpoena of the child’s school records indicated a decline in her grades over the past two years of the alleged abuse, though her standardized test scores remained the same, the affidavit states.
The affidavit states that the victim was doing a homework assignment explaining why her grades were suffering in November when she began to cry and told her mother about the alleged molestations.
The case against Admire has been turned over to the State Attorney’s Office.
