Police seek man in abduction attempt
Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a female juvenile at a Cape Coral bus stop early Wednesday morning.
The man approached the juvenile at a bus stop in the southeast Cape and attempted to grab her in order to force her into his vehicle at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to city spokesperson Connie Barron.
The juvenile was able to pull free and escape from the location, at which point the man got back into his car and fled the area, Barron said.
The juvenile told police the man was Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with an average build, dark eyes and short dark hair. He had facial hair on his chin, was wearing a dark sweater and dark gloves, and drove a late-model, four-door, gray compact car with medium-tint windows.
Anyone with information about the man is asked to call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
