Fort Myers Overview
Nestled along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, under azure skies and the shade of palms, Fort Myers — dubbed 'The City of Palms' — is the centered gem in Lee County's crown.

Although its downtown area has ony 540 acres, its architectural palette blends a mix of New World and Old, Mediterranean and Colonial, Modern and Post-Modern for a peppery result that is all Florida.

Fort Myers' downtown — which draws all sets with its variety of boutiques, bars, restaurants and cultural events — is a mixture of new development and careful preservation.

The city hosts two major league baseball teams during spring training. Centennial Park, affronting the Caloosahatchee river, is the site of concerts and events that draw residents of all ages, as well as a hosting a farmers' market during season.

Along with neighboring Cape Coral, Fort Myers is one of the fastest growing areas in the country.
