Fort Myers Attractions
Strolling through downtown Fort Myers is an eclectic visual experience. Late 19th century structures with their ornate facades stand in stark contrast to towering modern condominiums. Peer down an alleyway and discover a brick piazza with fountains and restaurants of every description. Of course, al fresco dining in such an authentic feeling venue is an absolute must!

The bronze, circular sculpture pictured above stands in front of the Courthouse on First Street and is etched with the names of Florida's flowers, in Latin. From the street, the words appear normal. On the back, however, they are reversed — mirror-images of the ones on the front. One might wonder why a sculptor would do this. At night, when the sculpture is lit from within, all of the "backward" words are projected onto the courthouse columns. From this aspect, they appear as they would if you were reading them on the page of a book.

Both Thomas Alva Edison and Henry Ford called Fort Myers 'home' — at least during the winter months. Their homes, located on stately McGregor Boulevard, are open to the public. You can visit Edison's lab as well as tour the living areas of two men whose inventions forever altered the way we live.

The Harborside Convention Center, also situated on the banks of the Caloosahatchee, offers unparalleled facilities for events of all sizes in a lush, tropical environment.

The Imaginarium Museum provides a unique, hands-on program that lets you experience your world with over 60 interactive exhibits. A 'must' for children and adults alike!

Other attractions of note include the Fort Myers Historical Museum, Burroughs Home and the Railroad Museum of South Florida.

One 'might' also consider the Red Sox and Twins to be attractions as well! These two teams hold spring training in Fort Myers and tickets are all but impossible to get.
