• History • Attractions • Dining • Shopping • Demographics • Home Wiggins Pass Just south of Bonita Beach is Wiggins Pass — a natural barrier island thick with coast-protecting mangroves and other native vegetation vital to wildlife. With its shallow waters teeming with sealife, it is also a favorite place of the endangered loggerhead sea turtle which returns to its natal beach to nest after 10 to 20 years at sea. It's also a favorite for visitors with picnic tables, grills, bike paths, a boat ramp to access the back bay. A concession stand is located at parking lot #1 and offers food, drinks and rentals of snorkeling equipment as well as other beach gear.
